How to allow and facilitate learners and instructors to asynchronously collaborate and interact, in order to engage learners in processes such as problem-solving and critical thinking, and to be able both to mentor and to assess these interactions? Develop asynchronous computer mediated communications (ACMC) tools that can effectively and efficiently support the asynchronous collaborative learning process, due to the fact that they offer flexibility in the use of time as well as space (e.g., email, mailing lists, asynchronous audio/video communication, etc.)[1].
